A Study on the Influencing Factors of Addiction in Sports Betting Users based on Psychological Gambling Severity and Behavioral Gambling Severity in Korea

PURPOSE This study aimed to a) develop suitable screening tools for identifying gambling severity in Korea and b) explore factors that affect the index order prevent Korean sports betting users from easily falling into addiction, thus providing practical useful guidelines this regard. METHODS examined fans who had experiences of participating (Sports Toto), a legal system Korea. Toward end, an online survey was conducted May 10 June 25, 2022. A total 214 questionnaire results, excluding 23 gave insincere and/or incomplete answers, were analyzed normal distribution through skewness kurtosis, subscale scores calculated after performing exploratory factor analysis reliability using Cronbach’s α. RESULTS psychological behavioral developed based on stepwise regression analysis, which demographic characteristics domestic participants their lifestyle habits (e.g., smoking drinking, problem index, self-control scale, expectation scale). CONCLUSIONS First, affecting identified (having job, job stability, security) along with (smoking drinking). Second, gender, occupational characteristics, full-time employment, confidence self-control, desire self-improvement indicated as significant influenced index.
